Whisker Wednesday
This Wednesday, May 6th, is Whisker Wednesday! Students will be sharing a favourite piece of schoolwork from the year with their group. We also encourage students to wear their LME school gear or our school colours—red and black. For families who are new to Whisker Wednesday, this is a monthly event at Little Mountain where students meet in mixed‑grade groups to build connections and school spirit beyond their regular classrooms. Groups remain as consistent as possible from year to year to honour the relationships that are formed.
Candy Jar Estimation
This Grade 5 fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, May 5th at recess. Students can purchase a ticket for 50¢ to guess how many candies are in the jar, with the closest guess winning the jar. Students will have a chance to view the jar during Monday’s assembly.
Freezies Sale
The Grade 5 team will be offering freezie sales on select Fridays between now and the end of the school year. Like popcorn days, students will place their orders in class in the morning, and the freezies will be handed out at the end of the day.
Hockey Sticks
With hockey being a popular outdoor activity, a number of students have been bringing hockey sticks from home. Unfortunately, this has led to some conflicts during play. To help ensure a safe and positive play environment for all students, we are asking that hockey sticks not be brought from home. Students are encouraged to use the equipment provided by the school. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
PAC Annual General Meeting
The LME PAC will be having their Annual General Meeting on May 26th at 6:30 pm. All parents are invited to come along and participate. If you are interested in being a part of the PAC’s executive team, please fill out a nomination form, and come along to the AGM for the vote: PAC Nomination Form

PAC Hot Lunch
Our PAC offers a monthly Hot Lunch, with orders placed through Munch a Lunch. Families can access the Munch a Lunch ordering system either through our school website by clicking on Parent Information, selecting PAC, and following the link to Munch a Lunch, or by visiting the PAC’s Facebook page. The next hot lunch is Thursday, May 28th.
School Parking Lot
As we work to get everyone home safely and efficiently, we appreciate your patience when students are using the crosswalks. Please reduce your speed to 10 km/h in the parking lot and park only in designated spaces. During busy dismissal times, when the lot is full, we encourage families to consider parking along nearby roads. We also ask that drivers remain mindful and respectful of school buses when they are entering or exiting the parking lot.
Please Sign In
A quick reminder that all adult visitors must check in at the office before going anywhere in the school or on the playground. Since all doors except the front entrance remain locked during the school day, please enter through the front door and sign in. This helps us keep the building safe and allows us to connect with families.
To respect valuable teaching and learning time, the best times to speak with your child’s teacher are before 8:20 a.m. or after 2:17 p.m. If you need to connect outside these times due to an urgent matter, please contact the office and we will do our best to assist.
